The Thin Place
by Lucas Hnath
directed by Abigail Deser

March 15th- May 1st

Everyone who ever died is still here, just in a different part of here. Linda can communicate with them. And if you believe, she can make you hear them, too — in the thin place, the fragile boundary between our world and the other one. With acuity and relentless curiosity, Lucas Hnath’s play transforms the theater into an intimate séance, crafting an unnerving testament to the power of the mind, which has a mind of its own.

Los Angeles Times

“EERIE, SENSATIONALLY ACTED… all four performers are eccentrically alive… tantalizing drama.” — Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times

KCRW 89.9 FM
“PITCH–PERFECT… a beautiful example of what makes LA’s intimate theater so special — seeing great theater in a small theater. Grab some friends and plan to grab some wine after the show to call up your own spirits.” — Anthony Byrnes, KCRW 89.9 FM

Glamgical

“EXCEPTIONAL… A GEM… a sense of wonder all the way till the end… a mystical journey.” — Joe Mosqueda, Glamgical

Hollywood Gothique
“EXTREMELY SATISFYING… Subtle shivers are delivered with supernatural skill… an uncanny journey into the narrow realm separating Life and Death.” — Steve Biodrowskim Hollywood Gothique

Showmag
“As usual, the Echo’s production is TERRIFIC… Director Abigail Deser keeps a low-watt tension flowing throughout and coaxes strong performances from her cast.” — Michael Van Duzer, Showmag

Stage Scene LA
“WOW!… From its engaging start to its appropriately cryptic finish, The Thin Place held me in its supernatural spell.” — Steven Stanley, Stage Scene LA

Theatre Notes
“A WINNER… Every thing about The Thin Place is unique… a powerful climax and a wistful denouement.” — Paul Myrvold, Theatre Notes

On Stage Los Angeles
“BRILLIANT… leav[es] us to contemplate the idea of a ‘place’ where the corporeal essence of ourselves may linger mysteriously. Very mysteriously.” — Michael Sheehan, On Stage Los Angeles

LA Theatre Bites

“LA THEATRE BITES RECOMMENDED… a good show.” — Patrick Chavis, LA Theatre Bites

Arts Beat LA

“TERRIFIC PERFORMANCES AND SUBTLE DESIGN… a very good production.” — Terry Morgan, Arts Beat LA

BroadwayWorld
“A JOURNEY WORTH TAKING… an eerie meditation on grief, regret and the need for closure.” — Harker Jones, BroadwayWorld

Colorado Boulevard
“UNIQUE… entertaining and thought-provoking.” — Carol Edger Germain, Colorado Boulevard
